The Heart BehindHeifer & Bull

More than a butcher shop — an open table, a gathering place, and a family rooted in faith and community.

Inside Heifer & Bull Butchery — the warm, welcoming shop in downtown Murphy, NC

“There is always a place for you at our table.”

Heifer & Bull Butchery was founded by Laura and her husband, Ryan, with a purpose much greater than simply opening a butcher shop. Their dream was to create a place where good food, faith, and community could bring people together.

In the Founding of Heifer & Bull our dream was to create a place where strangers can become friends, conversations can begin, relationships can grow, and people can support one another through prayer and community. Everyone is welcome at the table.

Honoring Ryan’s Legacy

Although Ryan passed away this year, his heart, faith, and vision remain an important part of everything Heifer & Bull represents. The shop continues to honor his legacy by carrying forward the dream he and Laura shared: creating a place where people feel welcomed, valued, and connected.

His love for this community lives on in every greeting at the door, every conversation at the table, and every cut made with care. Ryan’s spirit is woven into the warmth you feel the moment you walk in — and it always will be.

HONORING

Laura’s Strength & Faith

In meeting Laura, I want to honor her strength, faith, and dedication in continuing to guide the business despite difficult times. It is a representation of true courage and strength. Her commitment to the community is reflected in the welcoming atmosphere of the shop and in the care shown to every person who walks through the doors.

Laura has kept the table open and the welcome warm — proving that a dream built on love and faith can carry on, even through the hardest of times.

This is more than a butcher shop.

It is an open table, a gathering place, and a reminder that community is built when people choose to show up for one another.
